TO-DAY'S' SPORTS FIXTURES

GAMES IN ALL CODES \ some interesting rugby matches The fourth series of, matches in the, comiietition of the Canterbury Rugby '/Union' will be the chief sports attractions of, a varied programme to be playea in the city to-day.. The competition is now reaching; ah interesting, stage; as the teams are beginning to'strike their best form;and a keen series of struggles' can be anticipated this afternoon. • The match at the Lancaster Park oval- is a keen •young Linwood side and the University team, which is, at present second in the Competition. This should be an interesting encounter, as both teams are very promising and willing to make an open game of it. ; The leading team, Sunnyside, will meet Albion on Rugby Park, and another game which should be well attended is the game between Old Boys and Athletic, which will be played at Lancaster Park west. . The other two matches are Technical Old Boys v. Sydenham, at Lancaster Park south, and Merivale v. Christchurch, at the Show Grrbimds No. 1. In other football codes there will be a further round of , competition matches. The following are the Association matches:—Western v. Nomads, at English Park. 3. p.m. (Mr E. B. Harris); Thistle v. Technical, at English Park, 1.30 p.m..(Mr C. Sweeney); Y.M.C.A. v. Rangers, at Spreydon Park No. 2, 3 pjn. (Mr W. Moore). , In the League code, the following is the draw for to-day's matches:—Sydenham v. Hornby, at Hornby No. 1 (Mr W. Thompson); Linwood v. Waimairi, at Sydenham Park (Mr P. Kirton); Addington a bye. Wojnen's arid men's hockey competitions will be advanced another round to-day with an interesting series of matches. The following is the draw for the senior competition of the men s association to be played to-day:—Trin-ity v. Sydenham, at Hagley No. 7 C. Bellamy and H. Teague); Technical v. Selwyn, at Hagley No. 8 (Messrs C. C. Holland and E. Cummins); Redcliffs v. University, at Hagley No. 6 (Messrs Ralph Gtacie and H. S. Cordery). , . -..
