Rugby—Royal Air Fo-ce 16. Leicester 4. County championship: East Midlands 14, Warwickshire 0. Welsh trial: Monmouthshire 11, Glamorgan 9.
Moscow is making a bid for more telephones. Its present population of 3.500.000 puls it among the largest cities in the world, but in ratio of telephones to .population it ranks about fiftieth. It has 110,000 lines, a fraction less than three to every 100 persons, ■and last yeai* the Postmaster-General planned to add 17,000 more. Stockholm, with a fraction less than 29 telephones to every ,100 persons, is far and away the best equipped city in Europe, second only to San Francisco among the cities of the world.
