VISITORS UNABLE TO GAUGE STRENGTH OF GREEN

The Queensland bowlers were beaten by North Otago by 52 points The green was keen and tricky. A wind made conditions difficult, especially for the visitors, who were unable to gauge the green. The totals were;— North Otago 138, Queensland 86. D. Kerr was the only succeasivA visiting skip. He drew in a match against Mollison, the score being 28 all.

INTER-CLUB MATCHES

The weekly inter-club matches of tlie Christchurch Bowling Centre are nearing an end for the present season. The last round of the Manning Cup pennant competition will be played today. with a prospect of an interesting finish, as several clubs arc in the running for the leading position. The following are the percentages of the different clubs: —Canterbury 02.8 a, United 60.31. Shirley 59.82, Imperial 57.14, Papanui 57.14, Linwood 55.95, Cashmere 55.33, New Brighton 54.26, Hornby 53.57, Returned Soldiers’ Association 53.57, Beckenham 52.85. Edgeware 52.85, St. Albans 52.67, Sumner 51.42. Kaiapoi Working Men’s Club 51.18, Sunnyslde 51.13, Riccarton Racecourse 50.89, Elmwood 50, Kaiapoi 50, Christchurch 48.8, Lyttelton 48.21, Rangiora 47.42, Belfast 46.76, Sydenham 46.66, Opawa 42.14, Barrington 40. Redcliffs 38.88, Aulsebrook’s 34.14, Heathcote 27.77, Spreydon 26.66. Two-Rink Championship Only one round remains to complete' the two-rink championship, played in mid-week. This is the round scheduled for December 2. but postponed on account of wet weather. The games in this round will be played next Wednesday evening. Both sections in this competition are in an indefinite position, with the final placing depending on next Wednesday’s games. Some of the clubs, however, have not yet sent in the results of the matches which were played this week, and until tills information is available, the exact position cannot be ascertained.
