The Governor of Massachusetts (Mr F. Murphy) announced to-day that a truce had been arranged in the automobile strike, whereby the stay-in strikers would withdraw from the five General Motors' Corporation plants. Representatives of the union and the corporation will begin negotiations for a settlement at Detroit on Monday. The Governor has agreed to station a representative of each plant to make sure that no machinery is removed and that there is no use of strike-breakers.
