OUR MAGIC DAY
On January 19, in the year 1736 James Watt was born at Greenock, in Scotland. James Watt was the inventor of the first steam-engine, as 'of course, you know. * ' . Now, what-magic can ; we make on James Watt's anniversary. Of course Lady Gay "has an idea. Take a pencil and a piece of paper. Sit in the sun on the verandah. The sun. is very magic, and this is important. Then make a list of everything in the way of machinery you can think of. You may mention the make of motor-cars, aeroplanes, farm machinery, sewing machines—anything at all. Oh, you will be surprised when you find how long your lists are. Send these lists to Lady Gay. and she will give small prizes for the best and neatest.
highest is the A.P.S. (Admiral "Press Ship.") The A.B. (Ablebodied Seaman), is one of the ranks on board any naval vessel. Other ranks will be announced later.
