SEARCH FOR FORMER INMATE OF ASYLUM (Received January 14, 9.50 p.m.) TACOMA (Washington), January 13. It is disclosed that the Mattson boy, who was kidnapped, was stabbed in the back and then bludgeoned to death by a degenerate. A thousand law enforcement officials are continuing work day and night. It is understood that-Federal agents are concentrating on a search for a former inmate of a Washington insane asylum. A stolen car containing bloodstained rags is held at Everett, Washington, as important evidence. Officials announced that tests showed that the blood was that of the Mattson boy. The tyres were the same as those which made the tracks near the spot where the body was found. G-men have filed a federal court warrant against an unknown person in order to make the kidnapper legally a fugitive from justice, thus making a criminal of anyone harbouring him.
