RECORD OPIUM HAUL IN NEW YORK
SEIZURE FROM CHINESE ON BRITISH LINER (Received January 14, 9.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, January 13. The largest seizure of smoking opium in the city's history was made when customs officers confiscated 4060 ounces aboard the British liner Maron after a complaint by the captain, who was suspicious of the actions of Chinese members of the crew. Three Chinese were arrested.
