Main Highways I engineer attached to the district office of the Public Works Department at Christchurch. is at present making a preliminary survey of the proposed subway to eliminate the Denmark and High streets level crossings. On a recent inspection of the site, the Minister for Public Works (the Hon. R. Semple) said that the contour of the land made it ideal for the purpose, and when the plans were ready they would be forwarded to the . | borough council for consideration.
