COVERED WICKETS FOR TESTS
VIEW OF PRESIDENT OF M.C.C. (Received January 15, 2.5 a.m.) MELBOURNE, January 14. Lord Somers, president of the Marylebone Cricket Club, discussing ■ the agitation in favour of covering test wickets for protection against rain, said the Marylebone Cricket, Club would probably give the matter serious consideration, although it was not a new problem. In test cricket, particularly in Australia, the public was such a big factor that It could not be disregarded. Ideal cricket, as they knew it in England, was played on the village green, irrespective of the elements.
