INQUEST OPENED

♦—— ■ GIRL’S BODY IN STREAM (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, January 13. The inquest on Lois Dobbs, aged 17, whose body was found in a deep pool in a stream on her foster-father’s property at Ramarama, was opened before Mr C. R. Orr Walker, S.M., toevidence indicated that the girl, who was unable to swim, slipped on the slimy rock at the edge of the pool, fell into the water, and was drowned. Detectives found marks on the rocky edge that could have been made by the gumboots which the girl was wearing. No significance was attached to one or two slight abrasions on the girl’s face near the mouth, it being thought that these were caused by the fall. The inquest was adjourned to enable further evidence to be called.
