BRITISH AIRCRAFT

TO THB EDITOB OF THB FBKSB. Sir, —A few weeks ago a statement appeared in "The Press" that the New Zealand Government was ordering aeroplanes from America because England could not supply them. An article in "The Press" to-day denies this. Surely it is time to call the attention of New Zealand to the truth that- "all" our exports depend on England not America, that the latter country has, by subsidising her shipping, monopolised the Pacific trade, and that if we favour America at the expense of England, wo, may soon be compelled (vide G. B. Shaw) to eat our own mutton, butter, cheese, etc.! —Yours, etc., OBSERVER. January 11, 1937.
