ELLESMERE . ASSOCIATION In the Ellesmere Lawn Tennis Association's B grade competition, Leeston beat Lakeside by 13 sets to 3. Lincoln won from Tai Tapu by 12 sets to 4. Irwell No. 1 won from Dunsandel by 11 sets to 5, and Irwell No. 2 beat Killinchy by 9, sets °ln' a match for No. 1 place on the women's A grade ladder. Mrs E. C. Vaughan (Leeston) beat Miss N. Morten (Waihora), 6-4, 6-4. For sixth place on the men's A grade ladder W. Sutherland defaulted to E. C. Maindonald.

Mason, Struthers have engßged Mr Earle Einum, official coach to the Canterbury Tennis Association, and he will be pleased to book coaching lessons and to supply leaflets with illustrated hints to players. Mr Chas. Angas, New Zealand's leading amateur, is also associated with Mason, Struthers' Sports Department, and will be pleased to assist players with advice. —6
