A WARNING AGAINST ENTRY INTO WAR
DR. MAUDE ROYDEN’S ADVICE TO AMERICAN WO3IEN
NEW YORK, January 10,
Dr. Maude Royden, who has arrived from England to participate in the emergency peace campaign in America, was introduced to a meeting of women in Washington by Mrs Roosevelt.
Dr. Royden warned the people of America against going to war for any cause, anywhere, and at any time. “Do not allow yourselves to think that you can do any part of the world a service by entering any war. You thought so in 1917, and what was the result?;—disillusionment, disappointment, bitterness, and sorrow, because after all your suffering and loss in a quarrel which was not your own, your war service has not helped the world to a just peace.”
