AERODROME FEES FIXED

CHARGES FOR LANDING AND HOUSING REGULATIONS APPROVED BY MINISTER (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEOHAiI.) WELLINGTON, January 8. Maximum landing and housing charges for aeroplanes on; aerodromes have been approved by the Minister for Defence (the Hon. F, Jones) under regulations under the Air Navigation Act. , The charges for accommodation are to be based on the floor space occupied by aeroplanes when the aircraft is accommodated. The folded area is to be taken as the product of the folded width and the overall length. The maximum rates may be charged only in those cases where provision is maple for fully servicing the aircraft and charges for housing will not be permitted unless accommodation is available. . Where housing is available, but is hot used on an aerodrome between sunset and sunrise, a standing charge calculated at half the daily rate may be charged. Housing fees are:—Small type, occupying less than 400 square feet, Is up to eight hours, and 2s up to 24 hours; small type, occupying from 400 to 800 square feet, 2s up to eight hours, and from 4s to 6s up to 24 hours; medium type, occupying from 800 to 1600 square feet, 3s up to eight hours, and from 6s to 10s up to 24 hours;.large, type, occupying from 1600 to 3200 square feet, 6s up to eight hours, and from 10s to 18s up to 24 hours; large type, ♦occupying more than 3200 square feet, 10s up to eight hours, and £ 1 up to 24 hours. Landing fees may be charged according to the maximum permissible weight authorised by the certificate of airworthiness of the aircraft. -A landing fee will not be chargeable for a test flight, arid machines normally fitted with tail wheels will be charged three-quarters of the normal rate; The landing fees prescribed are:—Machine certificated up to 12001 b, is; up to 18001 b,: Is 6d; up to 20001 b, 2s; *up to 22001 b, 3s; up to 25001 b, 4sp up to 30001 b, ss, From 30001 bto 10,0001 b the rate rises by 2s for every 10001 b. arid above 10,0001 b it rises by Is for every 10001 b. Before any . charges are put into operation on any ground, approval of the proposed scale must be secured from the Minister.
