* £IOO STOLEN FROM PARKED CAR CASE CONTAINING MONEY TAKEN IN CITY STREET While the city streets were thronged on Thursday afternoon with Christmas shoppers, an attache case belonging to Mr George Wood Sim, butcher, Colombo street, which contained approximately £ 100 in banknotes and silver, was stolen from Mr Sim’s car, which at the time was parked on the side of Colombo street. At 5.45 p.m., Mr Sim, before leaving his business premises, placed his day’s receipts in the attache case and placed it in his car. He then drove a short distance down Colombo street to a chemist’s shop, leaving his car parked on the opposite side of the road while he entered the shop. He placed the case on the floor of the car. When he returned a few minutes later, he discovered that the case had been removed. At the time of the theft, there was a large crowd in the street.
