BOXING
— « PROFESSIONAL CONTEST AT ASH"LETON Great interest is being taken in the professional welter-weight boxing match to be staged by the Ashburton Boxing Association on the Ashburton Domain Oval this evening. The match is between Les. Adams (Ashburton) and Al. Stock (Napier). The Ashburton man is in the pink of cpndition, and has many supporters, who believe he has a good chance of victory over the long journey of 15 three-minute rounds. Stock is a doughty opponent, having been runner-up to Gordon at the New Zealand championships at Hastings. This season he has had decisions over Archie Hughes, Neville Mudgway, and Clarrie Rayner. The main bout will be preceded by four amateur nreliminaries: H. Bates v. W. Craib (Timaru). W. Lister v. P. Wright (Timaru), "Snowv" Higbt v. R. Tonks. and M. Vessey v. T. Lister.
