BETTER RELATIONS WITH BRITAIN AND U.S.
♦ M. BLUM’S CLAIM FOR HIS GOVERNMENT (Received December 25, 5.5 p.m.) PARIS, December 23. M. Leon Blum (Prime Minister), addressing English and American journalists, said he did not believe that die defeat of his Government was imminent. Its disappearance was inconceivable and absurd, but if it disappeared it could claim that it had improved French relations with Britain and America. While the democracies of France, Britain, and America were united, democracy would hold and eventually prevail. He did not believe that war was inevitable. •
