ROTARY CLUB STREET APPEAL
TOTAL MORE THAN £IBO Approximately £lB4 was raised yesterday in subscriptions and donations from the street appeal conducted by the members of the Christchurch Rotary Club to assist the funds for the annual distribution of Christmas hampers by the club. This morning Rotarians will begin at an early hour the work of distributing the 500 hampers which are being given this year. In choosing the recipients for these gifla the club makes use of the knowledge of needy and deserving cases that the many social workers m the city gain in alleviating distress. The system of distribution has been organised in every detail so that there will be no overlapping in the work and to enable the hampers to be delivered in good time. Christchurch and its suburbs has been divided up into a number of different districts, which will each be the concern of a different section of the men engaged in the work. _________ —.
