WHEAT PRICES FALL IN CHICAGO
+ ESTIMATED ACREAGE LARGEST ON RECORD (Received December 23, 9.30 p.m.) CHICAGO, December 23. After a Government report estimating the winter wheat acreage at 57,187,000 acres, the largest on record, general liquidation developed . in the leading markets, with no pro- ' nounced tendencies to rally. Closing deals were about bottom price. Net losses to the Board of Trade here are 2\ to 3 cents a bushel. The trade ignored a Government estimate that the yield would be only 600,000,000 bushels, which is 22,000,000 bushels below the 1928 to 1932 average.
