AUSTRALIANS' TOUR OF NEW ZEALAND TEAM ANNOUNCED (UNITED PnESS ASSOCIATIOH—COPTENJHT.) SYDNEY, December 23. The team of surf life-saverr to represent Australia on an instructional tour of New Zealand will sail on January 29. The iteam is as follows:—A. Cameron, K. Foster, A, Hart, B. Hodgson, J. King, J. Miller, H. Scott, and W. Scott. NEW BRIGHTON CLUB PERMISSION GRANTED FOR ART UNION The club captain (Mr A. T. F. Stokes) presided at a meeting of the committee of the New Brighton Surf Bathing and Life Saving Club in the pavilion. Permission was received from the Minister for Internal Affairs (the Hon. W. E. Parry) for the club to hold an art union for a prize of £ls alluvial gold to raise funds for improvements and alterations to the present pavilion. It was decided to send tickets to all New Zealand Surf Clubs. The appointment of beach patrolman for the holidays was left over for consideration of applications. Notice was received from the Canterbury Surf Association that it would finance the patrolling of the beach for six weeks, and it is the intention of the committees to keep a patrolman for a further two weeks if funds permit. For the works sub-committee, Mr G. J. Gowan reported that tenders had been called for the alterations to the pavilion, and would close on December 24. It was hoped to be able to make a start with the extensions early in the New Year, and to be finished in February. The new conveniences, which are now being built on to the pavilion would be finished in January
