FARM WORKER'S DEATH
(PRISS ASBOCIATIO* TKLEORAU.) INVERCARGILL, December 23. An inquest was held to-day into the death of Daniel James Ratch, aged 22, who died yesterday as the result of a bullet wound in the head. James Mackie Crombie, a farmer, of Kennington, said Ratch worked on his farm, and always appeared to be without worries of any kind. The witness gave evidence as to the finding of the body, with a .22 calibre rifle lying beside it Frank McLew. a clerk employed by J. Matheson, of Kennington, said that he was a friend of Ratch, who seemed to him a particularly level-headed and jovial person. The coroner UAr W. H. Freeman) found that death was due to the accidental discharge of a rifle while Ratch was out rabbit shooting.
