WOMEN'S DIVISION OF FARMERS' UNION
MITCHAM-ROKEBY BRANCH The Mitcham-Rokeby branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union celebrated its third birthday with a garden party at Mrs Copland's home at Mitcham. The weather was perfect and more than 50 persons enjoyed themselves in the pleasant grounds with tennis, miniature, golf, croquet, and quoits. A sales table did good business. Mrs Wilkinson (vicepresident of the Mid-Canterbury executive), for the members, presented Mrs Copland with a posy ajnd wished her the season's greetings. Afternoon tea was served in a shady corner of the garden, a feature being a large birthday cake with three candles. Mrs Copland welcomed the visitors. Mrs E. M. Begg, housekeeping secretary of the Mid-Canterbury executive, lit the candles, Mrs Cecil Doig blew them out, and Mrs Copland cut the cake and presented the prizes won during the afternoon and year.
