* SUCCESS OF EMPIRE FLYINGBOAT (Received December 22, 11.30 p.m.) LONDON, December 21. The Caledonia, the first of the Imperial Airways flying-boats to be fitted for experimental long-range Atlantic test flights, created a record for commercial aircraft, flying nonstop from Alexandria to Marseilles, a distance of 1700 miles, in 11.1 hours, carrying half a ton of Empire Christmas mails. It will fly non-stop to Southampton to-morrow.
