Mr Justice Callan was an arrival from the north by the steamer express yesterday morning.
Brigadier W. Cottrill, divisional commander of the Salvation Army, has returned to Christchurch after visiting Waimate, Timaru, and Temuka.
Mr N. H. Skinner was a passenger from the north by the steamer express yesterday. Squadron Leader J. L. Findlay, officer commanding the Wigram aerodrome, who arrived in Wellington by the Awatea on Monday, returned to Christchurch yesterday morning. Mr F. A. Jarrett, who has been for some years junior partner in the firm of Messrs Hoare and Kingscote, is severing his connexion with them to join Messrs A. M. Satterthwaite and Company as manager early in January. Mr I. D. Campbell has been appointed general secretary of the New Zealand Police Association. Mr Campbell has had a distinguished academic career. He won a Senior University Scholarship in Law and graduated LL.M. with honours in 1934. lie was admitted as a barrister and solicitor in 1933. He has been successful as an orator in public speaking contests.— Press Association.
