INTOXICATED MOTORISTS IMPRISONED
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) HASTINGS, December 22. Two motorists, who were found intoxicated in charge of cars, will spend Christmas in gaol. Leonard Llgwellyn Grant was sentenced in the Magistrate's Court to 14 days’ imprisonment and his license was cancelled for one year; and James Hall was sentenced to seven days’ imprisonment and his license was cancelled for three months
MOTORISTS PUNISHED AT HAMILTON
(TRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) HAMILTON. December L2. A term of imprisonment or suspension of his driver’s license was the choice offered a stockbroker of Kawhia. William Scott, aged 35, who pleaded guilty to being intoxicated in charge of a car. He was found sleeping over the wheel of the car in the main street of Frankton in the early morning.
Preferring the loss of his license, the defendant was fined £lO and his license suspended to May 31 next
year. James Patrick Hennessy, aged 52. faced a similar charge. He was arrested while trying unsuccessfully to start a car, and when he was arrested double charts and betting
slips were found in his possession. On the charge of intoxication he was
sentenced to 14 days’ imprisonment; and he was fined £2O on the buok(making charge.
