STEAMER LIMERICK DELAYED
TROUBLE WITH CREW AT HONOLULU (press association telegram.) WELLINGTON, December 22. Cabled advice from Honolulu was received at Wellington to-day stating that the Union Steam Ship Company’s Limerick had been delayed at Honolulu because of trouble with the crew. •One report stated that the ship, which had 3000 tons of cargo, including a large quantity of perishable foodstuffs, was, being worked by nonunion labour. '* According to the company's reports, however, the crew had refused to supply steam for working the cargo, and an arrangement had been made for shore power to be supplied, the cargo being handled by the usual shore labour. In the meantime the crew was not working, but it was expected that the dispute would be settled to-night. , ~ . . The Limerick is said to be the first foreign ship to be held up by trouble resulting from the American shipping strike.
