During her visit to Blenheim, Miss Gertrude Drayton, secretary of the central executive committee of the Victoria League, London, was entertained by the president (Miss Mary Bell) and the members of the Blenheim branch of the league at an enjoyable evening party, which was held at the home of Dr. R. G. Adams. During the evening Miss Drayton gave an interesting address on the work of the Victoria League. Amongst those present were Mesdames W. Adams, E. F. J. Grigg, G. M. Spence. C. G. STUDIO PARTY

An enjoyable evening was spent at Miss Eileen Orchard's dancing studio v icie Miss Orchard entertained a rv.mber of parents r.t the end of the vcar break-up. The children danced a number of dances they had learnt during the year, and Miss Orchard ;.■ companied many pieces an the piano. SPORTS CLUB'S DANCE

Members of the Prebbleton Amateur Sports Club who conducted a successful meeting dur*g the day concluded theh programme by holding a dance in the Public Hall, when there was an exceptionally large attendance. Town and country visitors enjoyed dancing to music provided bv Les Kinsman's orchestra, with extras pinved by Miss Ngarita Kenworthy. Novelty dances were won by Misses J. Eoswell and J. Pimm, and Mr G. Gallagher and partner. . In the card room prizes were gained by Mrs C. Hands, Mrs T. Smith, Mr C. O'Malley, and Mr P. Barr. Mr H. Prebble was master of ceremonies.
