PARTY FOR CLUB FUNDS A meeting of the committee of th( Victoria League was held in the office Those present were Mrs J. Mowbraj Tripp (president), in the chair, Ladj Acland. Mrs E. G. Hogg, Mrs C. C Davis. Mrs C. Chilton, Mrs R. H. Hen nah, M~rs R. Cracroft Wilson, Miss C Gosset, Miss B. Gould, Miss M. Skoglund (secretary), and Mr J. D. Fairhurst (honorary treasurer). Mrs Tripp said the prize-giving foi the essays' competition had been postponed owing to health regulations. Miss Drayton wrote thanking th< committee for the hospitality showr her while in Christchurch. Mrs Hennah reported that since the October meeting she had sent out 30? newspapers and magazines to outlyinj parts of the Chatham Islands, lighthouses, etc. Also that Miss Margarei Williams and Miss Barbara Laurence had promised to help her with the literature distribution and this woulc lighten her work considerably. Gift: of literature were gratefully acknowledged from the Queen's Club, Mrs R D. Thomas, Mrs Bicknell, Misses E. anc M. Paul, Mrs Rattray, Mrs H. G. G Lyttle, Mrs Buchanan Matson, and Dr Crooke. Miss Skoglund reported having linked up 118 children for correspondence with England and Jamaica Mrs Tripp, when asking for leave of absence prior to her departure foi England, expressed gratitude to the members of the committee who had sc ably supported her during the year She spoke of the great impetus the work of the league had received bj Miss Drayton's visit. Mrs Triprj was granted leave of absence and appointed the league's representative foi Canterbury while in England and Mrs W. S. Bean, vice-chairwoman, was appointed acting-president until Mrs Tripp's return. Mrs Hogg expressec the committee's appreciation of ali Mrs Tripp had done during her year oJ office.
