A 56-HOUR WEEK
AWARD FOR COASTAL SEAMEN
WELLINGTON, December 15. The Arbitration Court to-day fixed the hours of work under the New Zealand Masters' and Officers' (Coastal Shipping Companies) Award and the Northern District Ships' Masters' and Officers' Agreement at 56 a week. The application was for a 40-hour week. Mr A. L. Monteith, employees' representative, dissented from the decision.
