HIT-AND-RUN DRIVER FINED £25
INTOXICATED IN CHARGE OF CAR
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGBA.V.) CARTERTON, December 15. Percival Joy Doney, who appeared before the Magistrate's Court yesterday, was driving a motor-car on Sunday night and crashed into an empty car standing on the roadside under a street light. He drove on without ascertaining whether any damage had been done. The police were at once advised and set out after Doney. A passenger in Doney's car, Malcolm Page, suffered a severe cut on his nose, and medical aid was necessary. When Doney stopped to go to a doctor, the police caught him. Page was sent to the Greytown Hospital. Doney was charged with being intoxicated in charge of a car. He pleaded guilty and was fined £25. His license was cancelled till May 31.
