PLUTO AND MCMAHON IN DRAWN BOUT
A WHIRLWIND FINISH
(PBX9I A.SSOCUTIOX TXLXOBAII.) PALMERSTON NORTH, December 15. The return bout between Jack McMahon (Palmerston North) and Bill Pluto (Western Australia) went the full distance for a draw to-night, the spectators being treated to 12 rounds of desperately hard fighting. Pluto was brilliant at the start, but was rather impetuous, and McMahon was wiser as the result of the fight a few weeks ago, which ended so sensationally, avoiding many of Pluto's attacks, for which he was without a counter in the first contest. With six rounds gone, Pluto was leading, but he then lost some of his speed, and McMahon worried him for the rest of the fight. A whirlwind finish gave i»XcMahon an equal shar- c the honours.
