SOFTGOODS WAREHOUSE EMPLOYEES
ARBITRATION COURT HEARS DISPUTE
(rRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGKAM.) WELLINGTON, December 15. Parties to the Dominion softgo'cds warehouse employees' industrial dispute, which was heard in the Arbitration Court to-day. agreed substantially upon the scale of wages and left for the court's decision hours of work, holidays, and rates for casual work. The wages submitted for the court's approval included a minimum of £5 7s 6d for travellers. The workers claimed a 40-hour fiveday week, the employers asking for a 44-hour week. The court reserved its decision. The claims of the Storemen's, Packers', and Warehousemen's Federation, the Wellington Wholesale Softgoods Guild, and the Christchurch Softgoods Employees' Association were not upheld when they applied for the right to secure separate awards.
