CHICKEN SEXING
TO THE EDITOB OF THE PRESS, Sir,—-Would you kindly allow me a little space to ask for the experiences of other readers regarding chicken sexing. Having heard only of the 100 per cent, successes from various poultrymen, I had 170 chicks sexed by the Japanese sexer, 62 of these being declared roosters and killed. Five died due to the usual crowding, etc., and now at a month old there are at least 30 roosters among the remaining 103 supposed pullets reared. This is a long way from the 95 per cent, that is supposed to be the usual result. Am I just unlucky or is this a true state of affairs with most people?— Yours, etc.. H. November 14, 1936.
