NEW PREMISES OPENED BY DUKE OF YORK LONDON, November 12. The Duke and Duchess of York opened the new headquarters of the Royal Empire Society in Northumberland avenue. The Duke read a message from the King stating that he was sure that the building would prove a worthy meeting place for people from all parts of the Empire. He looked forward to visiting the premises in the near future. The Duke also handed the chairman (Lieutenant-Colonel Sir William Weigall) the. King’s cheque for 100 guineas towards the .cost of a clock in the entrance hall.
