MINISTER’S NAME MENTIONED CAPE TOWN, November 12. The Minister for Mines (Mr Patrick Duncan) is a likely choice for the office of Governor-General of South Africa. - Mr Duncan, who has been Minister for Mines in the Union Cabinet since 1933, was bqrn in 1870, and was educated at Balliol College, Oxford. He was Treasurer of the Transvaal in 1901, Colonial Secretary of the Transvaal from 1903 to 1906. and acting-Lieuten-ant-Governor in 1906. A K.C., Mr Duncan is a barrister of the Inner Temple and advocate of the Supreme Court of South Africa. He was Minister for the Interior, Public Health, and Education in the Union Cabinet from 1921 to 1924.
