The South School Committee had decided unanimously in favour of the proposal, considering that it would be in the best interests of children. After a considerable amount of correspondence on the subject had been read, Mr G. Roller asked if any negative replies had been received from teachers who had taught in intermediate schools. Mr Roller said that he had discussed the matter with two teachers keenly interested, who had expressed to him nothing but favourable opinions about the intermediate school system.# The evidence in favour of establishing an Intermediate school was so overwhelming that for once has was with the majority.
