Mrs Colin Macdonald was hostess at an enjoyable bridge party, held at her home. Those present were Mrs A. J. Maclaine, Mrs de Castro, Mrs Hodgkins, Mrs Vesey Robinson, Mrs A. E. Brockett, Mrs G. M. Spence, Mrs H. Hursthouse. and Miss I. Rutherford. Mrs A. Watt, founder of the Women’s Institute in Canada, and president of the Associated Country Women of the World, is visiting Blenheim. During her visit Mrs Watt will address a gathering at the Masonic Hall, when she will be welcomed by the Marlborough Federation of Women’s Institutes. Mrs S. Dennett (Kekerangu) is visiting Christchurch. Miss D. Wood is visiting Wellington. Mrs T. Watts (The Delta) has returned from a visit to Christchurch. Miss G. Trolove is visiting Christchurch. Miss Ruth Oswald is the guest of Mrs H. Y. Monro (Bankhouse). Miss Mignon Macdonald is visiting Wellington. Mrs P. Wiffen has returned from a visit to Wellington. Miss M. Cooke (Christchurch) is staying with Mrs C. Murray (Wharanui). Mrs G. Tidswell (Christchurch) and Mrs H. Bruce (Oxford), who have been visiting their parents, Mr a«d Mrs C. O. T. Rutherford (Craiglockart), have returned home. CALEDONIAN HALL A special "show night’’ dance will be held at the Caledonian Hall this evening, under the auspices of the Caledonian , Select - Assembly. Geo. Bradford’s orchestra will provide the music for old and new dances. A special race carnival will be held to-mor-row evening.
