TENNIS MATCH AT HAWARDEN
The Hawarden Tennis Club’s A team played a match against the Willoughby A team recently. Hawarden won by 17 sets to 7. The Willoughby B team played the Hawarden B team at Hawarden, Hawarden, winning by 23 sets to 1. During the week-end a match was played against the Rangiora Club. Hawarden beat Rangiora by 14 sets to 10. Returned Soldiers’ Parade A well-attended Returned Soldiers’ Association parade and church service was held in 'the Hawarden Methodist Church on Sunday, when the preacher was the Rev. H. S. Kings, of Christchurch. assisted by the Rev. H. K. Brown and Mr H. J. Mackie. The church was appropriately decorated in red, white, and blue. A solo was sung by Miss Sealey, of Christchurch, and a duet by Miss Sealey and Miss Southern. The recitation, “Remembrance” was contributed by Miss Pat Grimwood. Mr J. L. Feek sounded “Last Post.” AMBERLEY DRAMA CIRCLE The Amberley Drama Circle recently presented three plays to a full house, in the new Town Hall. The producer, Mr W. E. Cook, deserves the credit for the well-performed productions. The plays were: “The Old Lady Shows her Medals." produced by Mrs W. E. Cook. Mts’ J. Schofield, Mrs D. Boyce, Miss Lewis, Mr J. D.
