“PRESS SHIP” CONCERT TO-MORROW
Girls and boys from some of the orphanages of the city will be the guests of the Young Helpers’ Club at the concert to be held at the Radiant Hall to-morrow evening in aid of “The Press Ship” Christmas Mission funds and Cholmondeley Home “Press Ship” cot. The programme to be presented is of an exceedingly high standard, and includes choruses, in character, by the pupils of Mrs Enid Frye, dances by Miss Ivy Fowler’s pupils, and an operetta, “The Wonderful Inn.” Among the performers are Beryl Baggs, Pat Sorrell, Joan Masters, Betty Burt, and Jack Robb, Olga and Virginia Flint, Dorothy Shah, Erin Matthews, and Maurice Dixon, Joan Sorrell and Edid and Dulcie Curtis will be heard in instrumental items. The club is fortunate in having the help of Mrs Enid Frye, one of the leading producers of Christchurch, and the fact that she is lending her aid is in itself a guarantee of success. Furnishings have been lent by Archbolds, Ltd., and various firms have given help, may be reserved at “The Press” office on Saturday morning from 9.30 a.m. to 12 noon (Lady Gay’s room).
