♦ NEW ZEALAND SINGLES CHAMPION M’GKATH will not defend TITLE AT TIMARU (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, November 12 The New Zealand Lawn Tennis Asspciation has been informed by V. B. McGrath. Australia, the New Zealand tennis singles champion, that he will not defend his title at Timaru m January, as it would be impossible for him to 'rest between that tournament and the Australian championships. DAVIS- CUP CHALLENGE ROUND LONDON, November 11. The Davis Cup challenge round will be played at Wimbledon on July 24. 26. and 27; and the inter-zone flnal will be played on July 17, 19, and 20.
