TRAP SHOOTING
ELLESMERE GUN CLUB’S CHAMPIONSHIP Unfavourable weather conditions prevailed for the annual clay bird championship shoot of the Ellesmere Gun Club. There were 12 nominations and the best scores were as follows: L W. Prosser .. 11110111110111111 —15 T. Gordon .. 11111011021120111—14 A. McGregor .. 20012101111101211—13 .W. H. Winchester .. 11110111100111101—13 D. L. McGregor .. 12211012101201100—12 L. C. Lemon .. 11001100112111110—12 F. L. Graham .. 11111001102011110—12 Prosser took the championship trophy and Gordon the trophy for runner-up. Those with 13 and 12 on divided the sweep money. Another match was held for two trophies given by the Colonial Ammunition Company. In this event the best scores were:— E. A Washbourne (16yds) 111111101112120—13 T. Gordon (18yds) .. 111002011111112—12 D. L. McGregor. (14yds) 112021111111100—12 L, C. Lemon (15yds) 100110111112112—12 Washbourne took the first trophy and those with 12 on shot off for the second trophy. Lemon being the winner. The other two divided the sweep money. There were nine competitors in a sixbird sweep and Washbourne and J. F. Parkin, with all on. divided the money.
