FARM LABOUR
NO SHORTAGE REPORTED AT TEMUKA
PLENTY OF WORKERS SAID TO BE AVAILABLE
Although there are many reports of shortages in farm labour from all parts of the Dominion, so far the Temuka district has not felt this shortage. An officer in the Temuka Employment Bureau said yesterday afternoon that Temuka had not suffered by an exodus of men anxious to obtain work under the new system in the Public Works Department Although serious shortages in farm labour were reported in many other districts, Temuka still had plasty of men offering for farm labour, provided the conditions were reasonable for the men.
