CRICKET CLUB'S DANCE

The opening for the season of the Northcote Cricket Club was ceJebrated with a dance held In the Gaiety Hall, PapanUi. Battle’s orchestra supplied the music and Mr Charles Bond played an extea. Messrs M. Price and N. Trembath acted as masters of ceremonies. . Winners of novelty dances were Miss A. Fielding and Mr K. Watson, Miss J. Price and Mr T. Klrcher, Miss D. Hockey and Mr H. Chaney. There was a large attendance at hi® nual basketball dance held in the Pun lie Hall, Springston. The opening lor the season of the Eyreton Tennis Club was celebrated with a dance held to the West Ifrretro Hag. FANCY DRESS PASTY

A children’s fancy dress social, kdd la the Broadfield schoolroom, in aid of the school funds, proved very successful. Early in the evening the children gathered in the. schoolroom and went a happy time dancing and singing. Items were given by Gladys Guilford, Max Gallagher, and T. Neiman. Novelty dances were Won by Dorothy Net man and Ted Smith. Lonu Gallagher and Allan Phillips, Audrey Simpeon and Max Gallagher. , Mias Gladys Guilford and Mr M. fits* gibbon supplied the music, and Master Maurice Neiman was master of ceremonies. .
