SOMERFIELD RACING CLUB
ANNUAL ELECTION OF OFFICERS
The annual meeting of the Somerfield Racing Pigeon Club was held recently. The secretary’s report of the last year’s activities was received.
The election of officers resulted:—Patron, Mr E J. Howard. M.P.; sub-patrons, Messrs H. T. Armstrong, M.P., T. H. McCombs. M.P.. J. S. Barnett, A. Smith, H. C Smith, J. Barter, G. Robinson, B. Pegley, F. Gray, W. Gray, E. French, G. McDougall, H. Beale, A. Pearson, Dr. A. C. McKlllop, Mr W. Puddle; president, Mr R. Hodge; vice-presidents, Messrs J. Fry, R. Lumber: secretary-treasurer, Mr F. E. Ockwell,-.executive committee, Messrs R. Hodge, J. Pry, R. Lumber, R. E. Ockwell, K. Robinson.
It was decided to open with a race from Studholme Junction on October 10. A motion of sympathy was passed at the death of Mr W. H. Flower, a subpatron of the club.

MR L. WRENN WINS BOTH EVENTS
The Christchurch Premier Pigeon Club opened its racing programme with a flock race and a nominated yearling bird race from Upper Hutt. The birds were favoured with good weather. Mr L. Wrenn was successful in winning both races, the times being shr Slmln SBsec, and shr 34min Osec ft* the yearling birds, which were liberated one and a quarter hours before the old birds.
