NEW BATTLESHIP FOR GERMANY
THE SCHARNHORST LAUNCHED (Received October 4, 9.10 p.m.) WILHELMSHAVEN, October 3. Far in advance of schedule, on account of which the Government hat, congratulated the builders, the largest post-war battleship, named the •Scharnhorst, was launched in the presence of Herr Hitler. She is a 26,000 ton vessel, and has nine 11inch guns, significantly all mounted forward. General Blomberg (Minister for War) said the vessel was the first- fruit of the naval understanding between Britain and Germany.
