RACE OYER TASMAN PROPOSED
SYDNEY TO NAPIER (PBE3S ASSOCIATION TELEGBAM.) NAPIER, October A proposal to organise an air race from Cydney to Napier in January has been placed before the Napier Thirty Thousand Club. The prize-money will amount to £SOOO. An anon: ous Napier donor has already offered £SOO, with the stipulation that the finishing point for the race must be Napier. Although the Napier aerodrome at present is being reformed, the emergency aerodrome at Westshore is stated to pr_-ide ample landing space for the largest machines likely to participate in the race. There will be no restrictions regarding the types of machines to be entered. “PRIZE MONEY TOO LOW” OPINION OF SYDNEY PILOTS (Received October 2, f 1.30 pjn.) They regard the event as quite practicable, but express the opinion that the prize money is too low.
