WAIKARI LIME At the first annual meeting, of the Waikari Lime Company, Ltd., the directors reported that there is a considerable and growing interest in the use of agricultural lime, and that the company had had a strenuous time supplying the 'demand. At the same time, alterations and additions were made to the plant to increase the butput, and it was expected that they would enable the company to give prompt delivery of all orders. Mr H. M. Carr, chairman of directors, presided. The balance-sheet showed a net profit of £398 4s 3d, which was allocated as follows: Reserve for taxation £26, write off preliminary expenses £364 16s, balance carried forward £5 Bs. Mr J.R. Cullen, a Darfield shareholder, reported that he had recently visited the works, and expressed satisfaction with the progress that had been made during this, the first year of the company's existence. His remarks were endorsed by other shareholders. Mr Cullen also stated that he was pleased with the quality and extent of the company's lime deposit. Mr J. W. Cabled advice has been received by the Stock Exchange Association of New Zealand that the audit of accounts of North Broken ■ Hill, Ltd., for the year ended June 30, has been completed.
