GENEROUS BEQUESTS MADE
REALISATION OP LIFE AMBITION LARGE SUM FOR CHILDREN’S WELFARE (j>EE3S ASSOCIATTOK TILBGBAM.)' AUCKLAND, August 19. The fulfilment of a life-long ambition is given effect to in the will of Mr John Henry Hannan, a well-known business man, who died on August 9, leaving more than 60 house properties in the city. The mutual desire of his wife and himself was that part of his fortune should be bequeathed to the welfare of the children of Auckland. Mrs Hannan died two years ago. Mr Hannan’s will has been sworn for probate at - £60,000. Specific bequests, totalling £I9OO, are made ,to charitable institutions, and the residue of the estate, estimated to produce £30,000, is to be equally divided among the following: Leslie Presbyterian Orphanage, Meadowbank; the Methodist Trust Board, Auckland (for children’s homes); Manurewa Children’s Home; Anglican Orphans’ Home, Papatoetoe. and the Community Sunshine Association. -
