LANTERN-LIGHT FISHING
KING EDWARD OBSERVES OLD CUSTOM BAY RENAMED IN HONOUR OF ROYAL VISIT (Received August 18, 5.5 p.m.) BELGRADE, August 17. King Edward, after seeing the sights of Korcula on Sunday afternoon, including Fort St. Vitus, built during the British occupation of the island in 1813, and also the cathedral, spent the evening fishing by the light of Chinese lanterns, in accordance with an old Dalmatian custom. Some of Lis guests attended an historic play. The Nahlin put into Dubrovnik on Monday, dignitaries receiving the visitors with great ceremonial. Journalists for the first time were allowed to approach the King, who inspected the city parks, while a vast crowd cheered ■ him. He thanked the police officers for ensuring a pleasant holiday. Tilasnitza Bay, where he spent the first night of his Adriatic trip, has been rechristened • Edward the Eighth Bay.
