BOYS’ HIGH SCHOOL TOURNEY

ANNUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS HELD The boxing championships of the Boys’ High School were fought in the- Canterbury College gymnasium yesterdayi .afternoon. Competition in all six sections of the tournament was keen and there Were some interesting contests. The*-school open championship was won by MJ P. Chapman (13st 61b), who beat A: F. Cocks (12st 51b) in an evenly-contested bout. Mr G. S. Troup was in charge of the tournament. Officials were:—Referee, Mr R. Simpson; judges. Messrs W. Mouldey and G. E. F. Kingscote; timekeepers. Messrs H, V. Rowe and J. F. Moffatt; medical' officer. Dr. D. McK. Dickson; gong steward. Captain W. Hoar. Detailed results:— Under 6st , Semi-finals —K. R. Fisher (sst 111b) beat L. Barnes (sst 111b): C. R. Wamian (sst 121b) beat R. D. Hewitt (sst 71b). Final—Fisher beat Warman. Under 6St 101b Semi-finals—C. R. Bennett (fist 21b) beat Q. E. Whitta (6st 31b); R. F. Mitchell (fist 61b) beat W- Bennett (fist 91b). Final—Mitchell beat C. R. Bennett. Under 7st 101b ' Semi-finals—G. D. Blackburn (7st 01b) beat G. Steven (7st 61b); B. A. Parker (7st 71b) beat A. M. Simpson (7st 71b). Final—Blackburn beat Parker. Under Sst 101b Semi-finals—D. I. Glue (Bst 71b) beat B. A. Mackay (Bst 101b); M. C. Conway (Bst 3lb) beat A. Buchanan. Final—Conway beat Glue. Under 9st 101b Final—E. H. Maxwell (9st 81b) beat G. R. (Wilson (9st 101b). Under lOst 101b Semi-finals—M. W. Glue (9st 131b) beat j. B. Walton (9st 31b); B. M. d 6 Lambert (lOst) beat H. G.
